Kathryn Bronstad, a student at KPMS, submitted this drawing of the Spotted Towhee to the Tacoma Audubon Society’s Bird Drawing Contest, which won her the first place award for her age group. The competition is fierce, comprising students in all of Pierce County and its surrounding areas, in three different age groupings. This is the second year in a row that Kathryn has entered and won first place.
