Peninsula High School band is invited to July 4 parade in D.C.

The Peninsula High School Band has been invited to the 2010 Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC. The band is one of 49 to participate in the parade, and the 87 band members are already working to raise money for uniforms and travel costs. The Peninsula Booster Band Club has a goal of raising $130,500 to send every band member to the parade.

Vaughn Cemetery was adorned with 278 flags during the Aisle of Honor Memorial Day ceremony. The flags represent veterans from wars dating from the Civil War. Full story
